Three Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Award

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The finalists were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.
This year's winner will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.
The ceremony will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.

A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She entered the fray to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being on the shortlist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Perrin's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin came in second place in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
