Salah Extends Apology to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the team in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match subsequent to voicing frustrations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has refused to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the Salah's words were never meant to destabilise the squad.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a place of caring,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
