Helicopter Twirls Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Beach
A helicopter soaring over a popular California shoreline abruptly began spiraling wildly, eventually losing altitude and crashing into a cluster of palm trees as onlookers looked on.
Footage posted online show the chopper commencing to spiral over Huntington Beach then descending near the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged between palms and a steps adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Information
Emergency responders stated five individuals were taken to hospital involving two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the accident on that day.
Three persons on the street were injured. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
Planned Function
The department indicated the helicopter was linked to an annual “Cars and Copters” fundraising event scheduled for the following day.
