Passenger services have recommenced at Scotland's primary international airport after a significant technical issue at the control tower halted all operations.

Every arrival and departure were halted because of an systems problem that arose around 08:30.

Several flyers found themselves stranded in planes on the runway during the disruption.

Flights Resume with Residual Impact

Officials announced at 10:40 that services were back online, and thanked passengers for their "patience and understanding".

Nonetheless, considerable delays are anticipated to continue throughout the day. Flights to London Gatwick, Bristol, Amsterdam and Frankfurt have been axed, with a host of additional flights subject to postponements.
